Warm Winter Wishes friends,
I’m a bit late posting today due to not even realising that it was Tuesday – all of these holidays just blur into one lol. Because xmas day and Boxing Day fell on the weekend, Monday and Tuesday (today) are given as public holidays, but it just feels like one big long weekend and the same thing will happen with New Year, plus in Scotland we get an extra day, so it will be a five day weekend for us! I hope you are enjoying this festive time, celebrating whatever you celebrate and staying warm. We are trying our best under the circumstances.
today’s art . . .
Today’s art is a wintery journal page for Valerie’s theme over on Art Journal Journey. I made this background before Christmas but went off in a strange direction and didn’t like it and ended up almost covering it with white. Now that it had a lot of white it naturally started to look like snow to me so I decided to turn it into a wintery page, and then added these little houses and trees to make a scene. All the houses have doors of course but for the three houses on the right I added more elaborate doors on top of what was there originally.
I have this other tiny stamp that is a block of Christmas words, so I stamped that out and then cut it up into individual words and stuck them randomly on the page.
The little houses are coloured with Pitt pent and then I added some snow to the roofs with white acrylic. I have stamped HOME a few times across the background along with these clock stamps, as I am trying out a few possible words for my 2022 word of the year, and home is one of them.
t stands for . . .
We really haven’t done much at all over this holiday period except eat too much (probably) and watch a LOT of movies. So last night I decided to hook up the projector to the DVD player so we could watch some DVDs instead of what was streaming. Mr G is very interested by the giant dog that suddenly appeared on the wall while I was setting it up. I put a little white arrow showing where he is in case you can’t see him in the shadows.
Miss Lily was more adventurous and climbed up to get a better look at what was going on, no arrows necessary to see where she is – front row seat! lol
Miss P is not at all interested in movies… or the other cats but she is very interested in sleeping on this sofa at night instead of in her usual room which is too cold now. I let her in here when we all go to bed and she gets to try out all the various bed options. Last night she decided the couch was the best option!
If you are interested in what we have watched so far, the list is below. Some of them might not be typical Christmas viewing, but a lot of them contain snow!
Love Actually (netflix – essential xmas viewing)
The Holiday (netflix – essential xmas viewing)
Last Christmas (netflix – popped up after watching the first two, this movie is full of George Michael songs, hence the title)
The Jane Austen Book Club (netflix – one of my all time fav movies so any excuse)
Notting Hill (netflix – popped up after watching JABC and it’s been so long since I’ve seen it)
The Day After Tomorrow (DVD my essential xmas viewing!)
2012 (had to watch after TDAT)
The Thing (the original 1982 version, lots of snow, set in Antarctica)
Independence Day (another favourite and just found the DVD when grabbing some others so why not!)
Finally, for tea, I thought I would show you another one of my teapots. This is the same range as the one I showed last week but this one is a teapot without a cup.
It was a Christmas present to myself 🙂 It currently contains some very festive herbal tea that smells like cinnamon and ginger.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

That Winter scene is fabulous, great doors for Valerie’s AJJ theme too.
Love seeing your furry family watching with you.
We have watched some of those films too over Christmas, our list always has to include the first Home Alone film and now we have seen the latest version it will have that on too. Mu hubby loves slapstick comedy and my treat is seeing him laugh so much!
Although I didn’t join in TSFT this week I loved seeing that fabulous teapot. Hugs, Chrisx
Oh what a beautiful tea pot. I’m in love….
Such fun to see you furry friends watch the images. No we haven’t watched any films. We don’t have tv and consequently no Netflix. I suppose one can get Netflix on the computer, but we don’t watch enough to merit the price.
I love your journal page. They look like Amsterdam houses. A little glimpse from home….(Although I’m from Rotterdam. not Amsterdam).
Happy (belated) T-Day,
Lisca
Hi Elle, your journal spread. those houses looked awesome. a super wintery background and I liked the way you scattered the words on the page., it looked like they could be blowing in the wind.
Hope you had a good Christmas and the you have a safe and Happy New Year.
Yvonne xx
Thank you for linking to Valerie’s theme at AJJ
The background color of your page is very pretty. Mr. G and Miss Lily would get along with my Quill. He loves to watch television. Miss P looks very comfy. Such a pretty teapot and cinnamon and ginger tea is perfect for the cold weather. Happy T Day
Elle, love your art – a great scene you created and fun words. Very cool buildings and doors.
The teapot is beautiful – I so see why you gifted it to yourself!
A fun mix of movies, and TFS your great pictures of your sweet kitties!
Happy New Year and happy T-day!
I am loving that teapot! Beautiful. I remember the old version of The Thing. LOL
Happy New Year.
Another pretty teapot! Nice collection.
Have a great New Year’s celebration.

Wow, you do get some good time off for the holidays seeing they fell on the weekend. That is really nice. The holidays are good times to watch movies. We’ve been streaming the Matrix trilogy, which I really don’t remember that well. And I want to say I love your teapot and also your latest journal spread. I think it works perfect for Valerie’s challenge, and I like it too. I hope you have a great T day and happy rest of 2021 and new years also Elle. Hugs-Erika
I love the art but especially the little hands holding the art. Yes, I think a lot of people ate and watched movies. Your T-pot is beautiful.
Those are lovely houses on your journal spread, Elle. I like the trees in the background, too. This spread turned out great and I think Valerie is going to be happy that you shared it with us at AJJ, too. My word for 2021 was Hope (at home).
Your tea pot is stunning. It actually looks too delicate to use. It’s beautiful. Thanks for sharing your journal spread, what you’re watching on Netflix and DVD, the cats, and your teapot with us for T this Tuesday, dear Elle. Have a super safe, healthy fur filled New Year, too.
