Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!
Hope you are all well and enjoying your Tuesday. I am so glad to see the back of all that stormy weather, now all we have to cope with is the freezing temperatures at night – during the day it is sunny and almost like Spring but don’t be fooled, it’s still really cold here.
today’s art ? . . .
…I made myself a calendar today. Does that count as art? I can count on one hand the number of projects I have done this year so far, and that makes me sad but all this decluttering and house stuff is preventing me from being able to sit down and do anything and I’m losing my mojo. So today I made this calendar. I’ve seen people do this with paint chips/paint samples but I found these Tweed fabric samples during my decluttering and I thought they would be perfect for this project. I found them weeks ago, sat them aside, other stuff got sat on top of them and then I forgot about them until today when they were unearthed again, so I thought I should stop what I was doing and get this made before they disappear under another pile of stuff.
I used an old IKEA frame that already had the mounting board in it, so it was just a matter of attaching the Tweed samples in the order I wanted them and then putting it back together. My frame has glass which I think works better but it might work with perspex. I used a whiteboard marker to write the month, days, dates and weeks on the glass, and then added some things that will be happening this month. This is not a great photo as the light disappeared and my house is dark today but I’m sure you get the idea. I have another photo coming up later in the post…
decluttering. . .
This week got more stuff to leave my house. Yesterday I filled the car with rubbish and took it to the tip, and today I took more donations to a charity shop. It was a bit of a mixed bag, some boots, some stuff I don’t need, some toys, and another 18 books! Oh and 3 x IKEA Lack tables! It was another 6 bags and a box of books, plus the three tables. Photos of everything taken for reference so I don’t waste time looking for things later on!
kitty update. . .
Miss P’s ear is healing up nicely though it will be permanently frilly at the edge now. Miss Lily hasn’t coughed since she was treated at the vet’s a few weeks ago so that’s good news, and poor Mr G continues to be up and down with his IBD problems. I thought we were doing quite well today as I got him to eat some wet food and then an hour later it all came back up 🙁 He is taking his medications well but they don’t seem to be having much effect so far. Here is a pic of Miss Lily in her new(ish) cat carrier – she likes it so much she’s been sleeping in it.
garden. . .
It may not be officially Spring yet but the frogs in the pond think it’s the perfect time to be laying all their frogspawn!
They’ve been at it for days, zooming up and down the pond – they are creating such great wakes behind them, that it’s visible from the house like Jaws moving through the water lol. I was hoping to get out and fix part of the pond liner before they arrived but now it’s too late as I don’t want to disturb them. Even though they think it’s Spring, it’s been freezing at night and the pond has had ice on it so I hope the little tadpoles will be able to grow and hatch OK.

My ticket to tea this week is this mug I found in the “mug cupboard” which will soon be empty and will need a new name! Yes I am going to start decluttering the kitchen cupboards next (anything but the craft supplies lol). This is a great example of a bad design as it is really designed with right handed people in mind. If you hold mug in your right hand, this is your view of the mug…
If you happen to be left handed all you get to see is a sheep’s butt…
Let me know what you think in the comments and Happy T Day! As always, thanks for reading, stay warm and have a great week!

What a great idea for the calendar! Glad to hear the kitties are doing better. Poor Mr. G. maybe ask your vet for a probiotic to help build back the gut biome? The lambie mug is cute. Some days are like that your at the head of the line and smiling and other days you’re behind. Happy T Day
The calendar is a great idea! I’m impressed by the numbers of tadpoles you’ll be looking forward to. Nice! I like the mug, even with the little tail towards me 😉 Happy T Day!
GREAT calendar design – I love it! Great colors too. Fun idea. It is art for sure!
So proud of your decluttering progress. Kitchen cabinet decluttering would be the hardest for me. For some reason it is hard to part with mugs and plates and bowls.
Fun pond happenings! We have thousands of frogs in ours – it is super loud at night. Will get worse as things warm up. Fun stuff.
Happy T-day. Hugz to you Elle.
I like your tweed calendar. Great kitty news on one of them, anyway. So cute that the one likes the carrier so well she sleeps in it. Happy T Day.
SOunds like another profitable week. I am always inspired by how much you accomplish in a week. I have a pile of things in my bedroom that I have been meaning to sell for almost a year. I am hoping this will be the year.
Love your “tweed” calendar. Very clever.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
That’s a cute mug! Even though I am right handed I often have mugs and cups in my left hand, so I would see the sheep’s butt. I don’t mind – it’s a cute mug. I like the photo of Miss Lily.
haha what a cute mug-love the sheep face.
must feel good to declutter more items, glad most of the kitties are on the mend. spring is here one week and then back to winter temps again. so very up and down here.
Happy T wishes
That’s a lovely pond! And look at it positively: if you are left-handed then your companion gets to see the sheep face instead of the sheep butt. Mug half full!!

You must be either superwoman still working on decluttering or you really have a lot of stamina. I give you a lot of credit Elle. As for craft supplies I understand. When I move things back into my space it is going to awhile to reorganize, clean out and make decisions where to put what. Smile. That is a lot of frog spawn too. Wow. If it all made it you would be overrun with frogs I think. But they must know what they are doing if they are reproducing now. And that is a fun carrier. Miss Lily must love it if she is sleeping in it. Good luck with your cleaning; I like your calendar too. Have a great T day and that is a funny mug. But you are right, not for left handed people. Hope it was a nice T day. hugs-Erika
Too funny about the mug:) As I am right handed I’d gladly sip from that mug. You are so good at continuing your decluttering! I hope Mr G gets better real soon.
Love your vibrant calendar art! And I would love a pond- must be such fun to watch the frogs. Have a good week, and happy T day!
