Hi Friends!
We have SNOW! Quite a shock to the system but it started snowing last night and everything was white this morning when we got up. Miss P is not impressed – she goes out of her way to avoid walking on it by walking under the furniture on the patio instead of straight down the garden. We also got a wood delivery this morning and I lit the stove immediately! I never do that during the day but we now have loads of wood and it is snowing outside, so I thought it would be nice to warm the house up a bit, especially since the doors were open for a while this morning when we were getting the wood inside.
I took this photo on zoom on my phone, through a window this morning, so it’s a little blurred but not too bad that you can’t recognise that it’s a robin. I saw it yesterday for the first time, so I put out some food this morning and it came back. These are British robins, I believe American robins are different.
Today’s art . . .
I shared this photo of Miss Lily on Tuesday but this is the page she was standing on so I thought I’d share it again.
Today I am sharing three more pages (days 19-21) from this month’s journal created for #NoSewNovember Instagram challenge hosted by @megjournals, and this time I have two pages to share for Wendy’s theme of On, In or By the Sea over on Art Journal Journey.
Day 19 – expand
For the expand prompt what popped into my head was an expanding/exploding book and I just happened to have one that I made last year and was just sitting around on a shelf, so why not give it a home in my journal.
I made a little reel on Canva to show it opening so I am attempting to embed it here on the post…
(exploding book, book paper, JD crayons, glue, glue dots, )
Day 20- mosaic
For the mosaic prompt I cut up a watercoloured background I painted and placed all the little pieces around the page. I wanted to use these ATC coins I made ages ago but were perfect to use for Wendy’s theme and it also got them out of a box and into a journal!
(watercoloured background, distress ink, glue, ATC Coins, alcohol ink, )
Day 21 – drift
For the DRIFT prompt I was going to do something about driftwood but ended up with whales! LOL Funny how that happens isn’t it? These whales were diecut using an old Sizzix die from 2016! I remember buying it in one of their wonderful sales years ago for only a couple of pounds. The background is another one of my watercoloured ones, and the sea flowers are cut using a Jane Davenport/Spellbinders die set. She did a lot of underwater/mermaid type dies a few years back. I’ll be using another one later this week. The papers were all old gel print scraps. The words on the page are from the song Drift Away, which has been covered many times since it was written in 1970.
Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul (free my soul)
I wanna get lost in your rock ‘n’ roll and drift awayI managed to find all of the words except drift as word stickers, so I just wrote the word on by hand. This is another page I made with Wendy’s theme in mind.
(watercolour background, Sizzix whale die, Jane Davenport sea flower die, word stickers, glue, )
This is a photo I shared on Tuesday but I’m leaving it here as the kittens are both eating FISH!
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Challenges
Art Journal Journey – On, In or By the Sea
You did get snow. They say our first snow might be the end of next week, so I need to get busy wrapping up my outside chores. Grin. And your robins are adorable. I’m glad you shared that photo. And I bet the kitties were not happy with the snow. I remember when I had 2 kitties they didn’t like it either, but all the dogs we’ve had love it. And nice 3 journal pages. I love how you recycled that cool exploding book, and your ocean pages are excellent also. Now that song is in my head, but luckily you picked a good one so I don’t mind it. The whales are great. Thanks for joining Wendy’s challenge. And the sailboat and lighthouse are punch out images from ARt by Marlene, not stamps. Sadly. They would make great stamps. Have a super start to your weekend and stay warm. hugs-Erika
Two lovely bright pages for my theme, love the colours you used. Thank you again for your wonderful support.
