Hi Friends!

It’s cold here, snowy and a bit hair-raising on crutches – all I need is to slip and make things even worse!  So I am being extra careful when I DO have to go outside, and mostly trying to avoid doing that if possible. However, it was very windy yesterday, and the big plant saucer I was using to feed the birds, had blown away, so I had to hobble outside and sort it out again as they were all hopping around looking for food.

I have another three pages to share with you today and there are only 6 more days left till the end of the month (yikes!) and the #NoSewNovember IG challenge so that means I will have another two posts (and six pages) to share with you before the end of the month.  It would be nice to be able to make something extra but I am struggling to get Christmas cards made too so I can post them when I am out at the hospital next week.

I took this photo on zoom on my phone, through a window this morning, so it’s a little blurred but not too bad that you can’t recognise that it’s a robin.  I saw it yesterday for the first time, so I put out some food this morning and it came back.  These are British robins, I believe American robins are different.

Today’s art . . .

Today I am sharing three more pages (days 22-24) from this month’s journal created for #NoSewNovember Instagram challenge hosted by @megjournals, and this time I have two pages to share for Wendy’s theme of On, In or By the Sea over on Art Journal Journey.

Day 22 – spiral

For the spiral prompt I started with a watercolour background with a lot of scribbly lines drawn on with white crayon resist.  I thought it would make a good background for this prompt but I couldn’t think of anything else to do with it until I found this Jane Davenport octopus die set in my stash.  I used an old gel print to cut out all of the tentacles and made sure I had eight of them.  And then I remembered this meme I saw a while back and remembering it made me laugh again, so it had to be!   In case you can’t read my writing it says “I wish I was an octopus so I could slap 8 people at once”. Sometimes there are days….

I should mention again that although I am following the daily prompts for #NoSewNovember I am attempting if possible, to create the pages with Wendy’s On, In or By the Sea theme in mind which is probably confusing the Insta people, wondering why so many of my pages are about the ocean LOL, but an extra challenge for my brain to try and make it work for both if possible.

Day 23 – interact

For the interact prompt I used this old card I made back in 2020 and of course was in a box. I’m decluttering and trying to tidy up, so I’m trying to get rid of things just taking up space in random boxes. Instead of “interact” I was thinking more the opposite – let’s not interact today.

Day 24 – layer

For the LAYER prompt I repurposed another old thing, this time a tag from 2020. <– There’s a very in-depth step-by-step on how the tag came together in that post.  It was a very large tag, and actually originally had two seahorses on it.  I used the other one on this page already.  I did have to chop a little bit off the bottom so it would fit on my page. It has so many layers on it so it’s perfect for the LAYER prompt and of course with the seahorse, the (fruit) net, the quote and underwater colours, it is of course another page I made with Wendy’s theme in mind.

(repurposed tag – see original post for supplies, glue, )

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Just love that octopus as long as it isn’t anywhere near me. Thank you again for your entry for my theme, your support is much appreciated.

You’re right, the American robin is different from the European robin. I saw many of the many European robins recently when I was in Europe and I love them so much. They are so cute, smaller than the American ones and have a lovely song.
Beautiful artwork, some of it I already saw on IG. I always enoy your work.

They say we could see some snow at the end of this new week. Winter is coming, isn’t it? Are you going into the hospital to finally get your knee squared away.? Hopefully-my fingers crossed for you. Loving the latest 3 pages. I want to be like Marie today, and tomorrow too. Loving how you repurposed and made some cool ocean pages.. Thanks for joining Wendy’s challenge. And happy start to the new week almost. hugs-Erika
