Hi Friends!
Well it’s been a bit of a stressful week, having to look after Miss P, and also to keep her inside as she is normally outside every day. Plus she doesn’t like any other cats – including the other two who live in this house! There is something to be said for keeping cats indoors! Miss P was a feral farm cat and so she likes to be OUT. I can’t remember if I said or not on Tuesday, but she was bitten badly by another cat outside and developed a rather nasty abscess. We had to take her to the vet on Wednesday to have it drained, and I’ve been monitoring her ever since and trying to keep her distracted and away from the other two. You may have seen this photo on social media. I had to buy this collar from amazon as she was not doing well with the plastic one from the vet, and she kept walking backwards and falling off of things like the cat tree etc. She also couldn’t eat or drink from her bowls and I was having to feed her tinned tuna from my hand. This is WAY better.
I have another combo post today, for multiple challenges both on and off Instagram, and it goes without saying, but I am behind with all the challenges I planned to join. Challenges will be noted in the headings, and where possible, I will also be joining Sharon’s theme of Snow on Art Journal Journey
Today’s art . . .
CARE December Day 7 Soft Masculine and 8 Soft Feminine
A combo page to combine soft feminine and soft masculine. I have a swirly painty splattery background and then I added these two images which were part of a freebie from @WhimsyCraftDigitals. The freebie is very much Autumnal with lots of falling leaves in mostly oranges, but I printed it out in black and white and then splattered a lot of gold paint over the leaves to hide the orangeness. The butterflies are cut from a cardboard-backed napkin.
CARE December Day 4- Turkish Delight AND
Art Journal Journey – Snow
This page was created Care December but also works for Sharon’s theme of Snow on Art Journal Journey as per the heading above the photo. Whenever I think of Turkish Delight I am reminded of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis. If you have not read that book or the Narnia series, why not? One of the characters, Edmund, goes through the wardrobe and is tempted to to do bad things by being offered his favourite sweet – Turkish Delight. Narnia is under the power of the White Witch and it is permanently Winter there and never Christmas, so my background page is covered in snowy forest images to represent the snowy forests of Narnia. The photo in the middle is one I took a few years ago of some actual Turkish Delight, a Turkish Delight scented candle and the book that inspired both.
CARE December Day 9 – Flamingo
Today’s flamingo prompt made me think about balance as well as flamingoes! (BTW both flamingoes and flamingos are correct depending on where you live).
I used a photo of a flamingo, and some ripped up paper in a similar colour, and I noticed that one of the curves was exactly the same shape as the flamingo’s head so I placed it on top. As I was thinking balance I also decided to add this old card from 2019 as a tip-in. I really loved this card, and I don’t seem to make cards like this anymore, I don’t know why. I finished off with some Asemic writing and a bit of hidden journalling.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Art Journal Journey – Snow
Sorry to see Miss P like that. Hope she heals quite soon. Isa that a blow up or a soft padded collar? Looks rather comfy but I wonder how she can eat like that now, it must be squishy.
Great journal pages, Is pink your go to colour for Christmas this year?
Just wondering if you like Turkish Delight. I used to like it as a kid but as I have grown older my tastes have changed and I shy away from thme bars of Turkish Delight now. Love your snow laden trees.
Well, I am just recovering from the fact that yu are still on crutches. That is such a long time now. Since I fell last January I have lost my confidence in walking. I use a rollator most of the time, in the house too but am hoping that when I get a new hip (fingers crossed) I will find my confidence returns when walking. I ay be old in the body but still young in my head and young enough to want to run and walk without aids.
Hugs, Neet xx
Hi Elle! I truly wish that your sweet kitty heals quickly. How clever of you to find this soft collar for her to wear. Yes, it looks sooooo much better than that plastic contraption!!! Elle, I love the page your made for my snow theme at AJJ, The Turkish Delight candy looks delicious and I cannot believe that you have a candle, too! And I loved reading the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Yes, it really goes with this month’s “Snow” theme. I particularly love your beautiful snowy forest images in the background! Thanks so much for joining my snow theme at AJJ this month. Hugs, Sharon
Just popped by to say a big thank you for my Christmas card, the colours and star shining brightly are perfect ?. I hope Miss P. is better soon and that collar is fab, such a fashion statement too, she looks so adorable. Loving your pages too. Merry Christmastime! Hugs, Jo x
I hope Miss P. heals very soon. That is a much better collar, and it actually looks cute on her. I know when Maddie had her surgery they told me to get her a surgical suit, but I don’t know how you’ve ever put one of those on a cat without ending up with lots of claw marks. Loving the new journal pages. All of them, but the Turkish Delight and snow one is perfect for Sharon’s AJJ challenge. Thanks for joining her. And I must say I love the blue sparkle snow dots you added. Hope you have a nice week ahead and whatever is left to your weekend when you read this. hugs-Erika
