Hi Friends!

Happy Christmas Eve!  I hope tomorrow is everything you want it to be.  We wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I am spending my “spare” time (ie time spent looking after sick kitties) watching old episodes of Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas on Channel 4.  What’s been nice about this year’s series is that it was held at Dumfries House which is a stately home very close to where I live and owned by King Charles.  We go there often to walk in the grounds and visit the craft market and coffee shop.  It was nice to see inside the house, meet some of the staff and I even saw two people that I know!

Oh and also, I was very excited to have my tag chosen as the challenge favourite on Tag Tuesday for the alphabet challenge.  Here’s my winning tag…

The cats at christmas . . .

Miss P is out of her collar but she is still in the house and shows no interest in wanting to go outside – this is a big surprise for me as she is always so desperate to get OUT but she seems to be embracing the indoor life at least for now!

Miss Lily is feeling poorly, and was at the vet yesterday and got an anti-vomiting injection.  She has been throwing up for a few days and has a bout of gastritis. I was up a few times during the night to check on her as the injection causes lethargy and also can have worrying side effects but she is OK.

Her brother, Mr G is doing OK, he is usually the one with the most health problems so this is good news!  Here he is in his favourite position in front of the wood-burning stove. He really likes to lie on a flattened cardboard box instead of something comfortable like say, a rug lolhandma

Today’s art  is all about christmas cards. . .

I have really loved doing this technique (demonstrated by TIm Holtz on a recent video) it’s so effective and super quick when you realise you’ve forgotten some cards you need to send.  The cards can be made so quickly.

And feeling festive with a bit of tartan stamping inside!

These four cards are a little bit special as I designed them so that they could easily be taken apart and “used for parts” if you want.  So the background layers are attached with minimal double sides tape, and all the elements on the fronts are attached with sticky dots which are easy to take off.  So if you happen to receive on of these cards feel free to deconstruct it after Christmas if you like and I won’t be offended!  🙂

The christmas trees . . .

There are five Christmas trees this year.  The one above is the main one but there are also two smaller versions in other rooms (one in the craft room shown above with Miss Lily) and there are also two white wooden trees at the windows (as can be seen behind Miss P above). Here are some of the handmade decorations I made for the tree.

T stands for christmas eve . . .

A Pukka tea advent calendar and a chocolate smoothie.  This is an old one but the new ones are £11 and you only get 24 teabags.  A box of 20 Pukka teabags costs about £4.50 at the moment so I don’t feel like paying £6.50 for 4 more teabags and some pretty cardboard packaging.  Quite often though, amazon will reduce them after Christmas so I have one in my basket just in case. What is incredible though is that amazon have sold 30,000 of these in the last month!!!

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Wow! Beautiful photos. I love that face on the wall behind the first Christmas tree photo. Have the best New Year.

Happy belated T Day and Christmas. Sorry to be so late visiting, but the pain and headaches have been so severe, I haven’t been out of bed except for necessities.

I hope Miss P and Miss Lily are now feeling their usual selves. So glad Miss P wants to stay inside, even if it means keeping her away from the other two.

I love the Christmas trees. I am in awe of the ice skates you made for decorations.

I love the Christmas cards you made, especially the ones you gave permission to reuse/deconstruct. They are all beautiful, though.

Thanks for sharing your various trees and your tea. I agree that the cost of that tea s unbelievable for a bit of packaging. As they say, a sucker is born every second (and 30 k were born ;last month). Thanks for sharing your cards and your tea with us for T this week, dear Elle. Happy Boxing Day. At least I’m not late for that.

Merry Christmas. I hope Miss P and Miss Lily are feeling better. Lovely decorations and how clever to make Christmas cards for crafters to use as pieces parts.

Happy, Merry Christmas to you, such a festive post!
As you maybe know I love cats but don´t have any and on my friend´s advice I stopped nagging Ingo about that as we travel for weeks and I worry too much anyways.
If you are as lazy as I am (… 😉 …) I answered this on your comment:

Ingo got it(the pillow) at Jysk, it´s down feather. Thank you, but… why don´t you join me with the journal? Another blogger started this, but she passed away quite young.

Five Christmas trees! Oh my, that’s a lot!
I so love your cards! They are beautiful. The deconstructable ones in particular. (Is that a word?)
Yes, I watch Kirsty too. In fact Channel 4 is my favorite channel. But at this very moment I’m watching Carols from Kings College on the BBC. It’s sort of tradition to watch that.
Oh your poor kitties. I hope they will soon be better.
Wishing you and yours a very lovely Christmas,
Hugs,
Lisca

Merry Christmas to you Elle. Sorry to hear one of the kitties isn’t doing so well, but good to know Miss P doesn’t have to wear her collar any longer. I’m sure she’s happy too.. It’s fun to see all your decorations also. You have me beat by 1 tree-not that it is a competition of that I’m counting-grin. And I love your homemade ones. I hope your advent calendar goes on sale after the holidays. I’ve been bad with some craft supplies pre-holiday sales. I think I’ve bought too many new rubber stamps-grin. Have a wonderful T day and holiday. hugs-Erika

Such a festive post! I’m so glad to hear that your kitty cats are on the mend, they are all so adorable and have such individual personalities – love it :-). Your decorations look amazing, and that such a beautiful tree. Happy T Day and wishing you a very Merry Christmas! Hugs, Jo x
