Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well,  If I didn’t visit last week, it was because I was unwell and couldn’t sit at the computer, so apologies for that.  Today I have a special recycling post for Elizabeth’s bEARTHday recycling month, as Elizabeth kindly invited me to be the Guest Designer for today.  Oh and I had my little helper with me while I made them – Miss Lily was enjoying the sun shining through the window on to her cushion and I could hear her gently snoring next to me while I was arting.  It’s so good to see her back to her normal self. 🙂

.

Today’s art . . .

I really don’t know what to call these, as they were intended to be tags but then developed from there, into, I guess, collage clusters?  Very large collage clusters lol, they measure about 4 x 4 inches.  They will probably end up in my April journal at some stage once I find a suitable background for them as they will take up nearly a whole page each.  To get started, I pulled out some of my stash of stuff that I save from going into the recycling bin.  This is only a very small selection from a rather large stash.  (I was actually thinking at the weekend that I should throw some of this out, but of course the other option is to ACTUALLY USE IT – so I did!)

I used four different types of Pukka Tea boxes as my base layers.  Each tea has a different coloured box, and I was just going to use one side of the box to make a traditional tag shape, but then when I was cutting it down, I really wanted to use more of the pretty patterned box, so I ended up with a square shape instead.  I liked how each box had something different written at the top of the box, pertaining to the tea, but I thought could relate to the cats on the finished clusters and decided to keep them uncovered.

Initially I wanted to have four cat ladies having tea together but as I looked through the paper dolls, I found two gentlemen that I really loved with the cat faces added to them – haha don’t they look so dapper!  So the story changed from four cat ladies having tea together, to two gentlemen being invited to tea by two cat ladies.

Naturally Sweet

Eat Well, Drink Well

The gentlemen do look rather dapper in their suits, don’t they?  The grey gentleman’s name is Clive and the ginger gentlemen is Gerald.  They are both sweet on the lovely cat ladies, Esme is the one with the hat and Daphne is the one with her hands behind her back.  Gerald remembered to bring flowers and Clive is looked rather concerned because he forgot!

Be Prepared

Beauty Inside

I had also added some of these barcode labels from some packages on to my collage clusters, but then I found this leftover paper scrap covered in teacups, so I cut some up and added them to each one as a finishing touch.  These collage clusters, with all of these tea things – tea boxes, tea sachets, teabags and now teacup papers, are also my tickets to tea this week!

Thanks again to Elizabeth for inviting me as Guest Designer for today to help celebrate her bEARTHday.  I am also joining Try it on Tuesday this morning with their “Oh So Sweet” theme, and Creative Artiste challenge #114, details below.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy T Day!Ingredients

T Stands for TuesdayToday’s Tea post and BEARTHday recycling GD post

Try it on Tuesday – just saw this morning that the theme is “Oh So Sweet”. I think my tea with the cat ladies clusters might qualify, if not all four then the one called “Naturally Sweet”. Each one also has chocolate wrappers on them.

A fabulous collection of collages Elle. You have managed to add so many wonderful details from your rescued recycling and the Victorian cats look amazing with their colourful backgrounds. Great added textures too.
Thank you for joining in with our April challenge “Anything Mixed Media Goes” at Creative Artiste Mixed Media. Good luck! x

Purrfectly pawsome kitty creations – so much lovely detail in each one to look at and enjoy. Also lovely to see Miss Lily keeping on eye on your crafting – one of my 3 cats likes to ‘help’ me craft by pushing it all off the desk onto the floor:-) Thank you for joining us at https://creativeartistemixedmedia.blogspot.com/ this month. Your things too good to throw out and for use in recycled art is probably bigger than mine, but I don’t think by much. Grin. I have a big stack of cardboard. Will I ever use it all? Anyhow, enough about me. I love your cat people. Your oversized tags are amazing. And lots of fun too. Glad you could help Elizabeth celebrate. And happy T day Elle. hugs-Erika

Clive, who was NOT prepared looks like Squiggles.. Squiggles told me so and I agree. I adore your cats, Elle. They are so adorable and so well put together. I love all the recycling right down to the substrate boxes. Very clever idea.

Esme is adorable with her hat and butterfly wings. Gerald is charming with his top hat and flowers. H actually WAS prepared. Daphne is sweet looking and I love her butterfly wings, too. This is a stunning set of cats and a great way to recycle and share in T this Tuesday, too. Thank you more than you know for sharing this recycling project and also sharing T this Tuesday, dear Elle. And thank Miss Lil.y for adding comfort to you as you created these beauties.
