Hi Friends!
Hope you are all doing well. We had a long weekend for the Spring Bank Holiday and it rained for the whole weekend! I think we just had our summer. The temperatures dropped about 10 degrees and I had to light the stove!!! The kitties are all looking at me like I control the weather, and why don’t I make it warm again, but sadly I do not.
For T with the ladies from T Stands For Tuesday, here is my cat mum mug outside with one of my neighbour’s cats. This was taken a few days ago when the weather was beautiful and I was having my first coffee of the day outside, soaking up the Vitamin D. I had got into the habit of doing this every morning and it was so nice, I could almost believe I was in another country – one that has beautiful, settled, sunny weather on the regular!
Today’s art . . .
Messy May Challenge by Get Messy
Messy May is a daily art journal challenge held in May by the Get Messy Art Journal team. I have been playing along on a very casual basis, just joining in when I feel like it and mostly in the morning when I get up. The beautiful weather got in the way of serious arting time, so I have only done about six or seven pages so far and not shared any online until today. It was just too nice to be indoors in front of a screen!
Day 2 – Swatch
Day 5 – Aperture
This one I finished yesterday despite it being for Day 5. I used a very old Dobbies Reward envelope for the aperture. The date on the envelope is 2017 haha, yes I do hold on to things for way too long, but hey, it’s useful now! This page has a slider so I’m made a short (15 second) video to show it in action and also you can see the 2017 envelope!
Day 8 – Nature
I used these two journal cards I made ages ago using book paper and napkins. These two were leftover and I was wondering what to do with them, so I decided to put them in my journal and use them for the Nature prompt. I added tabs to them so I can write behind them if I want to. With these little birds, I am linking up with Neet’s theme of It Must Have Wings.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Art Journal Journey – It Must Have Wings
T Stands for – Morning coffee outside in the sun
Some fabulous art pages, and your neighbours cat seems to be very comfortable in your garden.
Elle, you have the most beautiful posts.
The sunny weather has been glorious, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying it too ?. I think the kitty cat looked so content sitting in the sunshine and I love your cat mum mug. Your journal pages are amazing, I love how you recycled everything and the little video was fab. I hope you are keeping well and wishing you a very Happy T Day ??. Hugs, Jo x
WOW, Elle. You put a lot of time and effort into Swatch. I LOVE it. The interactive aperture is both clever and appealing. BTW, I have bits and pieces I have saved since 2004.! I adore the bird napkins over the book pages. I also like the ribbon, too. The two pages are perfect for Neet’s theme at AJJ.
Still love your Cat Mum mug. And I love how the neighbor cat was drawn to you. Thanks for sharing your art and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday, Elle.
What a good idea to use tabs so that yu can write on the back of these cards. Both cards are beautiful with the birds and apple blossom. Perfect for my challenge at AJJ.
loved your little video with the slider, what a pretty face.
Please don’t let it be that we have no more summer t o come – we needed the rain, think of all the flora and the reservoirs that were suffering. I was beginning to think we would be rationing water. I remember that once before years ago. Plenty of time for the sun to come back, I hope.
.Hugs, Neet xx
I can get with messy!
Great art! In summer I love to sit on the balcony for sketching…. temps dropped here, too. But, well, have a happy T-Day, hugs!
Rainy on the weekends sounds like the weather at my house. And it’s been raining almost every day during the month of May and chilly. I’m longing to get out into the sunroom for the first cuppa the day, but too Brrrrr. Lovely art you created. I like the interactive aperture. Very clever. Happy T Day
Messy Art Journaling sounds right up my alley. You’re so good at finding these challenges. 🙂 I love all 3 of these, and the bird one is perfect for Neet’s challenge at AJJ. I had to smile at the cat Mom mug and how your neighbor’s cat came to join you. Some people just have an affinity to attract animals and you definitely seem to attract cats-and that is a good thing. I hope the good weather returns soon so you can enjoy some more morning outside coffees. Happy T day, and thanks for joining AJJ. hugs-Erika
