Hello gentle readers, for today’s post I thought I would provide a list of books that I read in August, although as they are all audiobooks, perhaps I should say, here is a list of books that someone else read to me lol. I managed to get through seven books in two weeks, the first two weeks of August. The second two weeks of August I was under the weather and not up to reading/listening to anything, but still, seven books in one month is quite good. Overall in my 2021 I have read 37 books so far, these books are 31-37, and since then I have struggled to read/finish anything else, partly because there has been so much to do outside and the weather has been on our side for a change. So without any further waffle, here are the books I read last month with star ratings.
AUGUST
31. Capturing the Devil – Kerri Maniscalco – Book 4
32. Her Every Fear – Peter Swanson
33. Their Little Secret – Mark Billingham – Tom Thorne Series Book 16
34. The Kind Worth Killing – Peter Swanson
35. Project Hail Mary – Andy Weir
36. Every Vow You Break – Peter Swanson
37. Before She Knew Him – Peter Swanson
Comments on this list:
I really love the Kerri Maniscalco series but this is the last book so that makes me sad.
I listened to the Mark Billingham book as it was the author narrating it himself and it was really rather good. This is book 16 in the Thorne series, and I have not read many of the previous books but I did see the TV show, so I was familiar with the characters. This book and all of the Peter Swanson books are crime fiction. I recently discovered Peter Swanson and started working my way through all his back catalogue, I really enjoyed every one, but the first one I read (Eight Perfect Murders) remains my favourite and it is very bookish and centres around a bookshop owner. And finally the Andy Weir book! Well what can I say about this one!!! I have loved all of his books so far, the Martian being a particular favourite, but this one takes the cake. I had no real idea what it was about before I started it and it took me off on a wild adventure, really loved it as you can see from the perfect 5/5 rating!
Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!
