Hello Friends!
I had started writing a whole different post for today, working ahead and feeling quite pleased with myself for not leaving it till the last minute but that was Sunday, and now it’s Tuesday and all of the kitty household are currently poorly. Not one, but two of them had to visit the vet for some urgent attention yesterday. Miss P has been bitten by something, presumably another cat, but perhaps not, and her ear is damaged and badly infected. The bite has ripped through the cartilage and is very painful, she will have permanent damage to her ear, a bit like a forked tongue. She is on antibiotics and painkillers and the wound had to be drained. That did not make her happy but she managed not to bite anyone. 🙁
Miss Lily also had to visit the vets yesterday – I took them together – as she has been coughing, especially at night when it is coldest. She had to stay in for X-rays and I collected her later, she was very sleepy as she had been sedated. She is also now on antibiotics and something for the inflammation in her lungs. The x-rays showed that her lungs are very congested, possibly from a virus or bacteria. It’s hard to say for sure without more tests.
Mr G is still on the steroids and is doing OK, still a bit of a struggle to get him to take his medicine (hidden in treats) but it will soon be time to start trying to reduce them as long term steroid use can cause diabetes in cats. (Ask me how I know). Of course when I brought Miss Lily home last night, he didn’t recognise her as I guess she smelled different (I couldn’t smell anything) so he spent some hours following this “strange cat” around and growling at her. It got so bad and was making her very stressed, that I had to lock him up downstairs for the night to give her some peace. What you don’t want when you don’t feel well, is a giant cat following you around and growling at you! She had been sedated so she was a bit sleepy and confused, and also needed to be kept warm overnight – not that easy in a house with no heating but we managed OK.
He howled all night I think. He was howling when we went to sleep, and he was howling when I woke up at 5am. I do not want to wake up at 5am but all the howling… It’s all quiet at the moment so I thought I would take some time to write a quick post.

My ticket to tea this week is the same last week, sorry to be boring but it’s pretty much all I am eating or drinking at the moment for breakfast. We had a day of -3C temperatures last Friday so all I wanted to do was eat warm breakfast and hot chocolate and all the kitty health problems is making me crave chocolate and comfort foods.
Apparently this year of the Water Tiger is good for my sign, and especially for financial fortune, so I am looking forward to that because can’t say I don’t need some good fortune at the moment what with vet bills, and a broken boiler etc! Let me know what you think in the comments and Happy T Day! As always, thanks for reading, I may be a little late in visiting this week due to *waves at all of the above* have a great week!

I’m sorry to read about your kitty problems. I have a sick one, too, so I can empathize. Poor Miss P. That ear will forever be different. Sorry to read about that. That’s another reason my two never go outside.
Yes, you need some good fortune this year so you can get your boiler fixed, or a new one. Again, I’ve never had porridge, but I love hot chocolate. Thanks for sharing your tragic tale of of the poor kitties with us, as well as your hot chocolate for T this Tuesday, dear Elle. I really wish there was something I could do for you.
Oh my, you and your kitties are really in the wars this week, hope they are soon all better. Happy T Day, take care, hugs, Valerie
Those vet bills must be killers. But, you have to do it, don’t you? Glad to hear they are all (hopefully) on the road to recovery. And sometimes, you just have to go for coco. I hope you have a better night’s sleep tonight with no howling cat, and it was a good T day too. Hugs-Erika
There has been a lot going on in your house and I’m sure all the cats’ ordeals probably had you worrying as well. I hope the girls will be better soon and Mr G will recognize them again. It seems it’s always the ears that suffer during a cat fight, I saw that with our neighbors’ cats who live in my garden.
