Hello friends,
Happy Saturday! Here’s to a great weekend! The weather outside is dull and wet so I am hoping to get a lot done inside today and maybe even a bit of arting.
today’s journal page . . .
Today’s spread is inspired by one of the Life Book Taster Sessions by Laura Dame. I’ve been a bit slack on actually getting any of the Taster Sessions done because I’ve been so busy with other things, but did manage to sit down last weekend and do a couple of them, so expect to see them dotted among the Halloween pages! I used this class to fill in an empty page in my current (not Halloween) journal. I’m hoping to fill this journal before Christmas but there are still some empty pages left to work on. One less now though!
My page started off with collage using some bits and bobs from the recycling, brown envelopes, some pattern paper with centimetre grids, ledger paper and then some mandala stencils using texture paste.
I used Payne’s Grey, Muted Turquoise and gold acrylic on the page, then some white and Prussian blue Neocolours for scribbling on top, and then a white paint pen for the asemic writing on top.
I’m sharing this page with AJJ for their colours of October challenge. My colours this month seem to be quite varied, this makes a nice change from Halloween orange though!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Stunning texture, love the scribbled white words. I loved this lesson, glad it’s now a forever in my soulful abstracts class. Thanks for joining me @ AJJ again x
Such beautiful colours – just like a clear Autumn day! Hugs, Chrisx
Fab bits, texture, color, and details. Your scribbling is my favorite – one day I am going to learn how to do it. Love the blues! Great pages!
Another great entry, Elle. It’s definitely different, but certainly one that I enjoyed reading about. I love abstracts, so this appealed to me. I love the stencil you used with the molding paste. Thanks for another great entry using Tracey’s theme at Art Journal Journey.
I’m loving the texture Elle. The colors are very fall too. To me, blue works great inf all because the sky always seems so boldly blue, well at least when it isn’t cloudy or raining. Thanks for sharing this with us and I hope you have a great weekend. Hugs-Erika
