Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday! I have the dreaded housework to do but then after that hopefully some more time in the studio!
today’s journal page . . .
Today’s spread is inspired by this cute Halloween fabric that is covered in black cats and pumpkins in various poses. I actually made two pages using this fabric, this is the first one and I decided to cut it up into all the little individual images.
As you can see from the photo below, cutting up the fabric into separate images meant that some of them were missing frames or parts of frames. so the first thing I did after gluing them all in place, was try to draw in replacement frames around all the little pieces, using paint pens and Pitt pens. I think the paint and Pitt pens worked really well to make the missing frames. In RL it’s hard to tell what’s a real frame on the fabric and what’s drawn on!
Then I coloured the whole background with gorgeous violet Neocolour II and once that was dry, I added some spiders and spiderweb doodles, oh and some bats as well for good measure!
I wrote some of the words from this Halloween rhyme on there too:
When black cats prowl
And pumpkins gleam
May luck be yours
At Halloween

This may be my favorite entry this month, Elle. I love those adorable black cats and the way you have arranged them on the pages. It’s a really nice composition and the lavender background with the spiders, bats, and webs made it even more fun to see. The background went SO well with the darling cats. This is a great entry.
