Hello friends!
Happy Tuesday! Today I am Guest Designing over on the Try it on Tuesday Challenge Blog where their current theme is Halloween! I gained my Guest Design spot after being Top 5 in the Summer Blooms challenge in August with my sunflower page.
Today’s Art . . .
As it is a Halloween challenge and I love Halloween crafting, it was a lot of fun for me to create this tag inspired by one of my favourite Halloween movies – Hocus Pocus (1993) and btw there is now as of last month, a Hocus Pocus 2 movie! Has anyone seen it? Is it good? I chose my favourite Sanderson sister – Winifred – (played by Bette Midler) in both movies, and drew her onto my tag which was a base of Distress inked book paper (the Harry Potter book again). I coloured her in using some Pitt artist brush pens which do a good job over the top of most things and then used a gold pen to add in the details in her dress and jewellery. I used a bat stencil to add the little black bats flying around her head and then wrote the HOCUS POCUS words at the bottom.
My tag is again made from a recycled amazon box, and then I mounted it on a slightly larger homemade tag and used some Poscas to draw the black, white and green pattern around the edge. To finish off the tag I used some black netting tied through the punched hole at the top of the tag – don’t you think it looks like a giant bat flying above her head? At the bottom of my tag I also placed this Halloween ribbon that I found in a box of Halloween stuff.
I hope you can join in with the fun Halloween challenge – the link to the challenge is at the end of the post.
T Stands For . . . Cats and Catch Up
I thought I would show you what I have been working on since last week, which is mainly my Fairytale pages for AJJ but I also managed to make some Halloween cards. The links to all six blog posts are below if you are interested, or just click the link at the top of the page to see them all so far. But first, here’s a sneak peak of the Day 18 page which I’m saving till tomorrow since it’s a combo page with the Day 19 prompt. If you look closely you will see my Cat Mum mug of tea at the back of my table, which is my ticket to tea this week.
Last week I was moving some furniture and the assorted stuff that goes with that, namely a lot of books, and other random stuff that seems to accumulate. I wanted things moved around before it gets any colder. I am foreseeing a lot of time hibernating with the kitties in my immediate future so I wanted it to be as cosy as possible.
Moving the furniture usually involves moving some if not all of the bookcases, so I took the opportunity to make the orange books look more festive and ready for Halloween. The kittens always get really interested when we start moving furniture and if we move the furniture around then of course that means we have to move the cat tree too…
They would love it if we could just leave it there in the middle of the room but that’s not possible, but they do love it there while it lasts.
Miss P was outside perched on the table, a favourite spot, and missed all the furniture moving fun.
Oh yes, and we have apples…
I picked some this morning before any more of them fall off the trees – it’s so windy right now!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!

I have never seen Hocus Pocus, and a friend was telling me there is a Hocus Pocus 2. Great tag. It is wonderful you have apples. I miss our apple trees from our house we had over 25 years ago. Recently visited that town and went by our old house. the apple trees aren’t there anymore. Happy T Day.
Yum, it’s apple season!
Love your tag. I have never seen Hocus Pocus but I heard it is all the rage right now.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
LOVE Hocus Pocus.. Each witch is so unique i don’t think i could pick just one.. i watch it every year.. i have not seen #2 .. but someone who has told me they were disappointed… so i don’t know.. Love seeing your art Elle! You are so prolific and talented! Happy happy T day ! Hugs! deb
Believe it or not, I have been reading all these wonderful posts you have created. I started yesterday and was going to comment on each, but it got overwhelming, so decided to save a comment until I read your T post today. You have certainly given us a plethora of wonderful pages to match your themes. These are all so clever and very well done. When I saw Bleubeard was a prompt, I wondered if it was the one I had read about. I always heard it was young boys who were buried on his property, but wives sound good, too.
On a side note, I have never heard of Hokus Pokus, so that tag you made for TioT truly alluded me. On another side note, I DID receive your cat card and now realize I had already joined jury duty so didn’t let you know, which is my fault. I have it in my office because I carefully removed the postage stamps which I plan to use soon. I will show the cat next Tuesday, I promise. Of course, everyone will have to wait to see the postage stamps you sent.
LOVE your cat mum mug. It fits you perfectly. Thanks for sharing it and all your incredible.e art you have created this month with us for T this Tuesday. Enjoyed seeing the apples, too.
I love your tag for TIOT, I so love that film and will watch it again over the next weeks. Sorry I haven’t visited all of your lovely journal pages, I just haven’t got the strength to write so much just now, and the medication I have to take seems to be giving me the rest! Hugs, Valerie
That’s not a movie I ever saw. The sequel is getting a lot of attention! I do love those cats 🙂 It must be quite a treat to pick your own apples. Nice! Happy T Tuesday!
Quite right, you want to be cosy and snug (as a bug in a rug as they say).
Here no halloween things in site. Probably in Lidl supermarket but I haven’t been there lately. It’s not a big thing here. Just as well as we don’t like it. I know it’s just a bit of fun, but I don’t like to make fun of death and evil spirits in whatever form.
Yum, your apples! Some of them look like cooking apples. I am slightly envious. I love cooking apples and they don’t have them here. Those that pass for cooking apples are still not as tart as the English ones.
Lovely to see your fur babies.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
