Hello friends, and hope you are having a happy, creative Wednesday! It was 3.1C when I got up this morning, that was a bit of a surprise as it didn’t feel at all cold last night, but 3C = frost so I guess I just didn’t feel it. The cats are in total hibernation mode now, one of them doesn’t get out of bed before lunchtime! They are spending a lot of time snoozing in their beds under one of the upstairs radiators as the pipes run under the floor there and they are getting heat from underneath as well as from the radiator – not silly, these cats lol. Our clocks changed at the weekend, so anything with a chip is now at the right time, but all the other clocks are still an hour later, so we are time travelling every time we go into a room with a clock lol. Anyway, today the sun is shining, the sky is blue and everything feels so lovely and crisp outside. We opened up all the windows to let in this lovely fresh cool air and then I took a photo of my desk – let’s take a look at it…
today’s desk for WOYWW . . .
It’s looking rather bare because I cleared that big space in the middle after making this tag but as you can see, everything else is piled up around the sides lol.
today’s art is a tag . . .
Today’s art is a tag! Finally! I planned to make a tag on Monday but it turned into a journal page instead, so this time I was determined not to let that happen! The new challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Windows, Doors and Arches, so I cut out a couple of tags using a TH tag die and an old amazon box, then got out another TH die, Stacked Archway, to make an arched window in one of them.
After joining the tags with masking tape, I primed both sides of both tags with gesso, I then painted the inside with Hey Pesto Fresco paint by Paperartsy, and added this washi sticker..
On the outside, I added some book pages and painted over them with Snowflake Fresco paint, then added some shading with a brown stabilo, before adding this washi sticker across the bottom of the arched window.
I found a line from a book that I liked for my tag, the lady is meeting someone for a secret tryst! Then I added some lace and this green vine ribbon to the front and looped some through the top of my tag.
If I say, here she is lurking in the bushes that does make it sound so sordid doesn’t it lol, but she does look like she’s lurking a little.
To finish off the inside, i added this chipboard plaque, also painted with Hey Pesto, and added the words it means so much, so perhaps less sordid and more Great Romance. 🙂
And here’s another look at the finished tag…
weekly catch-up . . .
October was a very busy month, I posted 41 times and made 36 art journal pages, plus a few other bits and pieces. I joined in a 31 Days of Halloween blog hop so there had to be 31 projects at least last month. I took all my Autumnal and Halloween pages and made them into a book. It’s around the same size as a large trade paperback, if you know what I mean by that.
Here are the posts since last Wednesday, altogether in a handy slider!
One of the posts includes a pastel painting of Miss Lily that I wasn’t 100% happy with, so I changed it yesterday and so now it looks like this, side by side with Miss Lily herself. 🙂
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

A fabulous tag Elle, love the cats as well. thank you for joining us on Tag Tuesday.
Gosh you have had a busy month, and I love the way you’ve bound it all together in a book, very handy skill that! I think the vine ribbon absolutely makes that tag, and no, nothing creepy or sordid crossed my mind till you mentioned lurking!! Laugh.
The tag with the doorway is fabulous! Love the pile everything at the edges style of tidying – mine is a bit like that. Happy Belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God bless, Caro xxx (#16)
Love your fabulous double tag with the lady lurking in the bushes. It’s a long time since I lurked in the bushes! Thanks so much for joining our challenge at Tag Tuesday, much appreciated!
Your pastel painting is wonderful! Did you make the bat too? I like him, I like your little “hands” too, I could do with something like that when displaying for photographs. Your tag is inspiring, don’t think I have an arched window die. Take care Angela #14
Your painting of Miss Lily is masterful Elle. Love the tag too – clever layout and layering. Meow to the kitties. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
What a great idea for a tag Elle. I love and the woman looking through. I have those same stickers. They are great, aren’t they? Hope it was a nice day. Hugs-Erika
I think Miss Lily will be well pleased with her portrait, I like it – a lot.
Love the tag too and the idea of how it is a window. You have the most fabulous collection of fabrics, now I see you have a lovely selection of trims too – that green vine ribbon is gorgeous.
I think yhur cats have the right idea, wish I could stay in bed nice and warm and not get up but there are things to do. Drat!
Hugs, Neet 12 xx
I love how your tag opens up! Beautiful!
Gorgeous tag. I love using tags as there are so many ways that you can use them and this is a great piece. Loving your painting of Miss Lily too. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, hugs Angela x17x
