Hello friends,

How has your week been so far?  Mine has been OK, bit cold, but I have been very creative so far this week and I feel like I have been getting a lot done, including more cards, but they are not finished yet so I will share them later on when they are dry.

today’s art . . .

Today’s art is another journal page this time inspired by the colours of the tag I shared yesterday.  I thought I would try them again on a larger project.  This is my Day 17 offering for Art Every Day Month and for the current theme over on Art Journal Journey which is All kinds of Weather, chosen by this month’s lovely host, Chris from PearShapedCrafting.

I was splattering paint about on this page and then decided to add some white which made me think of snow blowing about with Autumn leaves, and where did all these leaves come from?  From these little branches at the bottom of the page – they look like they’re reaching up trying to catch them.  This is my weather connection for Chris’s theme.

I drew my little trees with a fine black pen and then added some very fine black splatters with an old toothbrush.  I used the leftover paint to edge the page.

I did some stamping over the top of the painted background using some Snowflake Fresco paint and some GRATEFUL stamps I found in my stash, one script and one block capitals.  I also used a script NOVEMBER stamp but that didn’t show up that well. They were all clear stamps and I don’t find they work that well with paint.
Some of the GRATEFUL stampings are quite clear in this photo above.

I also added some gold acrylic ink across the background.  i angled the page in this photo so the shine was more visible.

Then I wrote out my quote using a blackliner pen – it’s not so easy writing across this bumpy textured background but it doesn’t look too bad, just a little shaky in places.

Here are all the colours used to create the background – Snowflake, Teresa Green, Limelight, Cherry Red, Pumpkin Soup, Banana, Cheesecake.  I used to know someone called Teresa Green so that one always makes me chuckle.  If you missed any November AEDM posts so far – check them out in the slider below.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

As the weather is going to get colder this weekend I wouldn’t be surprised if there was snow among the Autumn leaves. Thank you so much for sharing this fabulous page for my ‘All Kinds of Weather’ theme at AJJ, hugs, Chrisx

Wow, Elle. I love the background you created. I was so impressed with all those colors and I am glad you showed the page up close, too. I’ve always loved that quote, so I think it was very appropriate for Chris’s theme at Art Journal Journey, as well as AEDM. Great colorful spread, dear.
