Hello everyone!

It’s Day 30 of the blog along with Effy and so this is the last day.  [icon name=”sad-tear” style=”regular” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] I’ve enjoyed it immensely and I would definitely do it again!  But not next month as I am Guest Hosting on another site – I keep talking about next month but actually that’s tomorrow!  At least we have a long weekend for me to get used to it lol.  Come back tomorrow to find out all about and see what I created for it!

Meanwhile, back to Day 30… So this last blog along post features the results of today’s Wanderlust lesson which was by Marta from Maremi Small Art, and we are in the second week of the recycling theme at the moment so it was a recycling lesson and what better way to recycle than to use up a bunch of stuff by collaging.  My page probably is going to look nothing like the other pages created today as Marta provided some free digital papers for everyone to use, but I didn’t really want to print off more paper, when I have so much saved in my stash already, and I wanted to recycle some of it.

Since my room swap last week, I have rearranged some of the storage and here is where most of my collage fodder/stash is now living.  I even have a place to pin up some of my bigger pages, which also helps to hide the eyesore behind it lol.  These are some of my latest pages for class projects that will all eventually end up bound inside the various journals for each class at the end of the year, or sooner if I can decide how I want them to be attached. My usual smaller journals are all attached using masking tape but I’m not sure I want to do that with these so we will see what happens as I work my way through the classes.

I went though my stash and pulled out all of this lovely stuff that I thought had potential.

After narrowing it down a little, I ended up with some elements I liked.  These included a napkin, a teabag with tag and envelope, a page from a gardening catalogue, a gel print, some wrapping paper, some stitched brown paper, some masterboard offcuts, some paper scraps and a kraft tag..

After playing around with all the bits and pieces, I started to put them all in place and add some more things I found lying around in the stash.

Here is my finished spread!  I created a tag pocket on the bottom left for my kraft tag, and I found more wrapping paper, this time a piece with cacti on it and another piece with a green frog.  I also found a red bird and some branches that had been die cut some time ago so I added them to Frida, and then I found a die cut cactus!  So that had to be put somewhere, but I ended up changing the colour slightly to make it a darker green..

Here’s a look at the tag when it’s not in its pocket.  The words “your gift” and “free”, originally were attached to the image of the pink dahlia since that was “your free gift” in the magazine.

I changed the words around so that it now reads…

I added some journalling and some doodles and splatters and the “life is an adventure” and “be fearless” stickers came free with a magazine some years ago and I think are meant for planners.

So, that’s my last post for the blog along and my last art journal page for April.  It’s been an amazing month and I have really enjoyed getting to know some of the other bloggers and spend time reading their posts, it’s been great and so interesting to see what everyone is doing.  Thank you to Effy Wild for hosting the blog along and to everyone who has visiting and read and commented on my posts.

Let me know what you think in the comments, and as always, thanks for reading!

I’ll do my best to keep up.  The idea is to blog every day (obvs) but also to comment on other people’s blogs to keep the conversation going.  There is a facebook group where you can link your posts and find other people’s to go visit and comment. During April you can find all the Blog Along posts linked on my home page for convenience. If you leave a comment, I’ll be sure to return the favour!

Art Journal Journey – Inspired By… April Challenge – This post was loosely inspired by the class lesson but more inspired by what I found in my stash!  Last art journal page for April, I have really enjoyed this theme.
