Hello friends,
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, but not here where it’s raining a horrible drizzle and skies are definitely not blue. It’s so dark inside the house the lights have been on since 7am and the room that I now work in is very dark, I hope I don’t regret my decision to switch rooms now that I’m experiencing a change in season 🙁 Anyway, enough of me moaning about the weather, I have another art journal spread to share with you today. This page is inspired by the VINTAGE theme over on Art Journal Journey where this month’s lovely host is Wendy K.
Yesterday I spent too much time searching for lost things but during the search I found these two Wizard of Oz fabrics which were not lost but were forgotten about so I thought I would make a spread in my journal with them. At least they’re getting used for something even if it’s not sewing!
This is how they started out before I started extending the rainbows using my Pitt pens.
Poor Judy Garland, what an unhappy woman, but one of my mum’s favourites, as is this movie which is on TV every Christmas day without fail.
An oldie but a goodie!
Seeing all these red shoes in one place made me start singing a song by Elvis Costello called (The Angels wanna wear my) Red Shoes, so I wrote out the start of the first verse and added it to this tag made from an amazon box, and stuck it down on my page with a little fussy cut pair of red shoes. Page complete!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
my handmade journal, watercolour paper, fabric, gel medium, glue, amazon box, white card scraps, black pen, Pitt artist pens,

There is a facebook group where you can link your posts and find other people’s to go visit and comment.
i love this! what great fabric! and extending the rainbows is exactly what it needed. i’ve never heard that elvis costello song, but i’m so glad you have!
WOW Elle! I love the page. And that fabric!
As a kid, I watched Wizard of Oz every holiday.
I think it was on every Thanksgiving and maybe
Christmas. I always wondered why they played
it only at the holidays.
Great connection for Wendy’s challenge Elle. The Wizard of Oz is a super vintage film and I am impressed you have fabric for that. And nice connection to Elvis Costello too. This is a great page for Wendy’s challenge at AJJ. Thanks for joining us again. Have a great weekend. Hugs-Erika
Another great page, thank you again for linking with us on art Journal Journey.
Oh Elle, I’m sure the angels would love to wear red shoes! For some reason your post brought tears to my eyes. Not big ones though. It was so sweet, and pretty. All of it.
Fascinating how you pulled everything together and I love how you extended the rainbows. I avoid this song usually–it makes me cry! But I love your pages and theme. <3
Beautiful pages! Such amazing details and I love how you extended the rainbows ?. Happy Friday and weekend! Hugs Jo x
Wonderful fabric page, it’s nice to find things that were missing! I love red shoes, too, I have red boots and red sneakers. Thanks for joining us at AJJ, hugs, Valerie
Love every bit of this journal page and all the details in your post!
The weather turned dreadful here this afternoon…
Elle, I love that song – I am pretty sure I have never heard it. Super fun and perfect as inspiration for your fun journal pages. How wonderful you had these great fabrics. Amazing!!!
