Hello friends,
Happy Sunday! Hope your weekend has been good so far. Today I am sharing another fabric-based journal page inspired by the VINTAGE theme over on Art Journal Journey where this month’s lovely host is Wendy K.
This is another fabric I pulled out during the week and it has the same vintage style and colours as another fabric I used back at the beginning of the month. From memory the fabrics are from the same collection, and they all have Normal Rockwell images on them. This one has some pretty large framed images so to make it fit on my page I had to cut it down. Then I used other pieces to cover the left hand page. I really wanted to make sure the screwdriver was visible but I left off the saw!
I also added the vintage telephone from a different fabric on top of this one. Then I made some tags from an amazon box and wrote out some of the things I did with my Dad or skills I learned from him when I was a kid. Then I attached the tags with some metal brads in silver, gold, and bronze. I could probably fill a page or more with things I learned from my dad but these were the main ones I remember from that time.
My Dad taught me how to fish and bought me my own fishing rod; how to play football and how to knit! He only knew how to do knit stitches but that was all I needed to get going. We used to walk for miles in the countryside, watching birds and looking in nests. I used to help him in the garden, planting veggies and eating rhubarb dipped in a bag of sugar or small snowball turnips like apples. I also loved to help him with any DIY projects and he used to bring home fossilised creatures for me to collect. He dug them out of the earth himself and they were usually small things like insects and molluscs but one time he brought home pieces of a sea snake one section at a time – that was so exciting waiting to get the next piece to assemble!
So that’s my page for today, challenge details are below. Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
my handmade journal, watercolour paper, fabric, gel medium, glue, black pen, Pitt artist pens, amazon box, brads

There is a facebook group where you can link your posts and find other people’s to go visit and comment.
This page is not only wonderful by itself but also a great tribute to your dad too. I love the framed image of the girl and her dad. Thanks so much for sharing with us Elle. happy new week. Hugs-Erika
Another fabulous vintage fabric page, love it. I used to help my dad as well, I was really good at pulling up the spring onion plants and putting them through the fence to our neighbours chickens. I obviously thought they were grass. Thank you for another great entry to Art Journal Journey.
